Failure

Lost my first game as a basketball coach 46-36 to Fulton.
We were up 21-18 at halftime then only scored 6 in the 3rd, to their 11 (and 11 to their 14 in the 4th).
I’m not good at losing, it’s hard not knowing how much of losing this game is my fault.
When I was a player I knew if I left it all on the floor, doing as much as I could. That doesn’t work with coaching. I’ve read that the best coaches don’t do much during a game, because the players should be ready.
Our players weren’t ready. This is my fault.
I also have a feeling that many didn’t leave it all on the court.
That’ll change on Wednesday.
Final score: 43-36
Today was rough.
Basketball practice this morning was good. It’s not fun getting up that early, but I can get used to it.
Classes, one in particular, were rough. Don’t know if it is because for three of them it’s the last time I’ll have them before Thanksgiving break?
Then there’s the whole “I’m not making much money and I have to ask mom for a little bit” situation I’m in. I’ll have to call MOHELA again, I don’t see how I should have to pay $350 per month for my loans. I have a decent amount of loans taken out…but $350 per month????
I’d have no “money situation” if I didn’t have to pay those loans.
And I guess I wouldn’t have those loans if I would have been a “typical” poor college student and not raced bikes, etc. Then I wouldn’t have had lots of great experiences and stayed in shape up to the point that student teaching started.
Oh well…that’s life. Gotta deal with it and move on.
